Kauko Cup at Korineum Golf & Beach Resort

Kauko Cup at Korineum Golf & Beach Resort

The 11th Kauko Cup was held on Saturday the 22nd April.

This Annual Tournament is one of the most important in the history of the Club as Kauko Rastas a Finnish businessman who was a good friend of the President of the club Dr. Günay Çerkez had the initial vision and inspiration for the golf course in Northern Cyprus.

As celebration of his life and vision and in order to respect his memory it was decided to organize an annual Tournament named the Kauko Cup. Every Spring sees the club hosting not only the Rastas family but increasing numbers of Finnish and Scandinavian golfers. They join with the members to play the Tournament that is held as a remembrance to Kauko Rastas’ long awaited dream in the making of Korineum Golf Beach Resort into what it is today. This year 68 golfers competed in the tournament.

Geoff Moule the current Club Captain opened the Prize Giving cocktail Reception in the Lobby.

Marku Sarkamies (close friend and business associated), thanked the Çerkez family.

And finally, prizes were given to the winners by Mr Sarkamies and Dr. Günay Çerkez.
