The Dream

Korineum Golf & Country Club / Resort was a long awaited dream. A three legged international project with forefathers of this idea, a well respected Finnish businessman and developer Mr. Kauko Rastas, Prof. Muhammed Massumi and now owner Dr. Gunay Çerkez. The plot, ‘a natural golf paradise’ was selected due to its location in the 1990s. However the project was only given a start in 2004 and completed at the end of 2006.

The Golf Club History

North Cyprus, often described as ‘a corner of earth touched by heaven’ acquired its’ first 18 hole golf club built to international standards, the Korineum Golf & Country Club with a Grand Opening Ceremony on 7th April 2007. An exlusive island surrounded by the glistening waters of the Mediterrean and golden-green mountain ranges, North Cyprus not only has its unspoilt beauty to offer but also rich Turkish cuisine, entertainment, water and mountain sports, historical sites and a taste of warm local hospitality. The locals are friendly and the city centres are lively with live music entertainment in local bars and meze restaurants.

The Korineum Golf & Country Club is natuarlly decorated with a perfect mix of olive, pine and carob trees. Hosting two man-made lakes, this natural golf paradise is situated between the island’s most valuable natural assests, enabling golfers to enjoy the scenery of the mountain ranges and the sea from each hole. This uniquely designed course protects its excellence with regards to the playing surface with a special type of genetically engineered grass, ‘Seashore Paspalum’.

The Korineum Golf Academy is fully equipped with a driving range, three full length practice holes, a variety of long game practice bunkers , 5 target greens, 2 practice putting greens, 1 chipping/pitching green and a cafe/bar where you can relax after practicing. The latest state of the art golf swing technology can be experienced by students of all levels on the 34 bay Driving Range. Helpful advice can be received from one of the fully qualified PGA Professionals in a friendly and welcoming environment. Golf lesson packages are also available and are designed to meet the needs of the applying individual(s).

The Hotel

In September 2009 the second stage of the project was completed with the opening of the Korineum Residences, a Boutique Hotel with 48 rooms boasting comfort and lucious views. The Boutique Hotel includes a Relaxation Pool accompanied with The Sandals Pool Bar, Spa & Wellness Centre, Fitness Centre, Bar, Restaurants & Children’s Open air Play Area.
